The Mission

To make structured reporting effortless and affordable across every regulatory mandate that matters. We exist to remove the technical and cost barriers of XBRL compliance — whether you’re filing a 10-K with the SEC, a Form 1 with FERC, or a sustainability report under CSRD — so companies can focus on strategy instead of formatting, and investors get machine-readable data they can actually trust.

“If AI is the engine of the future, structured data (XBRL) is the fuel. We provide the refinery that makes it accessible to everyone.”

The Vision

We see a future where structured data is accessible to every company that needs to file, affordable enough that XBRL is never a barrier to entry, and comparable across every framework, jurisdiction, and mandate. A market where a 10-K, a FERC Form 1, and a CSRD report all speak the same machine-readable language — and where the smallest supplier and the largest enterprise play by the same rules, with the same tools.

Legacy Limitations

Legacy XBRL tools are desktop-bound, taxonomy-specific, and expensive. Building in-house capability for even one mandate is a multi-year engineering commitment.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Developer with a proven track record of building XBRL tagging and disclosure features. You should have direct experience developing the software modules used to map data to US GAAP, IFRS, or EFRAG taxonomies. This role is focused on the technical implementation of tagging workflows, dimensional validation, and iXBRL generation.

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Tagging Workflow Development: Build and maintain the UI and backend logic for selecting and applying taxonomy elements to data points.
  • Taxonomy Navigation Logic: Develop efficient systems for users to traverse and search large-scale taxonomies (e.g., US GAAP 15,000+ elements) within the application.
  • Dimensional & Extension Logic: Programmatically handle the creation of XBRL extensions and the application of “Dimensions” (Axis/Member relationships).
  • Validation & Rule Execution: Implement automated validation checks against SEC EDGAR Filer Manual (EFM) and ESEF/EFRAG reporting rules.
  • iXBRL (Inline XBRL) Engine: Develop the functionality to embed XBRL tags into HTML documents, ensuring visual and data synchronization.

Requirements & Experience

  • Previous Software Dev Experience: Direct experience building features for XBRL-heavy platforms like Workiva, DFIN, Toppan Merrill, or EZ-XBRL.
  • Taxonomy Proficiency: Deep technical understanding of the XBRL 2.1 Specification, Dimensions 1.0, and the structure of US GAAP/IFRS/EFRAG taxonomies.
  • Development Stack: Proficiency in languages such as Python (specifically working with Arelle or similar), TypeScript/React, or C#/.NET.
  • Data Standards: Strong experience with XML, XPath, XSLT, and JSON-based XBRL representations.
  • Filing Knowledge: Understanding the technical output required for successful submission to the SEC or ESMA.

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary, equity options with the flexibility to work from home.
